The Batista Workout Routine
Before Batista was discovered by the WWE he worked as a bouncer at night clubs, and spent his days training as a bodybuilder. His main priority during those days was sheer MASS! He wanted to be as big as humanly possible, and at one point he approached an unbelievable 400lbs. Once he arrived on the wrestling scene he obviously had focus on creating a more athletic physique to survive the rigors of the WWE. He obviously couldn’t spend every day in the gym, while traveling between, and performing at shows. He started working on his conditioning. He wrestled at an amazing 270-290lb, all while staying at a ridiculously low body fat percentage. His size, speed, and athleticism vaulted him to the heights of WWE Stardom.
Batista’s workout has included MMA training for many years. After his departure from the WWE, he announces that he wanted to become a legitimate fighter. Batista at one point had a deal in place to fight for Strikeforce, and a contract had been negotiated. However in April 2011, Strikeforce was purchased by Zuffa, and his contract was nullified. Batista still has aspirations of stepping into the octagon as a professional fighter.
Here is the newscast announcing the opening of his new MMA Gym…
Even though his professional MMA dreams are currently in limbo, as you heard in the video he is staying busy in the movie industry. He recently starred in the new movie “House of the Rising Sun”. This was his first leading role, and as far as wrestler turned actor, he landed somewhere between John Cena and The Rock. Having said that, I honestly think with a little more work he could become a legitimate action star. Just depends on where his focus lies.
As much as I enjoyed the movie, I cannot wait for him to step into the octagon if he is ever given that chance. Following in the footsteps of Brock Lesnar, I would love to see the results of this workout in full effect. “The Animal” has not ruled out returning to the WWE either. Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure, whatever he decides to do he will show in top shape. More updates to come, as we dig deeper into the Batista Workout, and the man behind it.
